Twitter Lists

There is a new updated called "Lists" in twitter. On the first look it does seem to be rather confusing but on closer inspection its interesting features and countless possibilities start revealing themselves.
This article:
1) does not mean I know everything about List (let’s call it TL, Twitter List)
2) helps me share whatever little I know and understood about TL
Creating a list:

To create a list you need to click on “New list” as shown in figure 1.1 (inside the red rectangle). You can name a lost appropriate to the kind people you are going to include in them. E.g. for poets your list can be called “Poets”, etc.
The name is unique to the account, i.e. I cannot have two @WWWpoet/poets but there can be many @xxx/poets. Unless you follow a TL back you will not see the tweets in it.
The total number of TLs you are included in will show under “Listed”. You may or may not have followed the TL but as long as the owner of the list included you in the TL you will show up in it.
Previously:
1) We needed to follow a person to see his tweets. If we wanted to follow his tweets we had to follow him and he had a choice not to follow us back.
2) All the tweets of our entire “following base” used to be displayed in one screen/plane/platform; this caused a lot of confusion and difficulties in following tweets from important people. In other words we had no process of filtering tweets.
Now:
1) You don’t have to follow a person to see his tweets. If he is included in your list u will be able to see his tweets without having to follow him. This means bad news for stars and good news for people like me who genuinely want to befriend followers.
2) You can also categorize followers and people you don’t follow into various lists.
3) The good news now you will be able to make followers and easily. Suppose you are in a list of poets owned by some user. There will be many other folks included in that list.. If they are following the list they will see your tweets themselves and if they find them interesting may follow you. Otherwise you can follow them and hope they will follow you back. This way you can follow a specific kind of people.
If you have any other question then we will probably need to research together and find the solution. Leave a comment and we will see what best can be done.
