Star-Supernova-Dust the journey

jack the ripper's picture

Boom
it exhumed.
In nothingness
there was a glow -
Hydrogen ions bashed
and made heat flow.

With such deafening noise,
such valor, such poise
- light years afar
the birth of a star.

Planets came,
moons followed them
saw a very happy family -
perfect accord lest mayhem.

Of faultless harmony
darkness held testimony.
With neither a sorrow nor a fear
the saga sustained for a million year.

But, with age the star cooled.
Its core began to screech aloud
and like an old man’s bones
painfully it bowed.

Finally another,
boom
Thus came
doom.

Radiation
overwhelmed
darkness
and
silence
overwhelmed
by clamor –
A ballet of sound and glamour
and the song of the supernova.

Hush
After a while
dimness prevailed,
not a pin drop, no fuss.
Little time discontinued
a legendary odyssey
of a celestial
effigy.

The dust settled
to extreme vacuum
of a void.
A vibrant space
by emptiness
replaced.
