The Fool's Dance on a Rooftop
For those who might think me only capable of dark poems, I am now going to make a pledge to write a few more positive poems as well. This is my attept at at humour. :)
She makes my heart sing
unconsciously
strumming my strings
until I cant think
of anything
extending her reach
that goes beyond me
it loosens my feet
I just cannot resist
the fatuous beat
with a kick and a twirl
just a clumsy jig
she watches me whirl
its the best I can do
as if a clam spits out his pearl
on a rooftop stage
like a clown in her play
before my fair maid
I dance all day
in a dizzy dismay
until I fall off the edge
