WORRIES OF A WALK

Women and health have always been inter linked. No matter how old you are or from which century you are!
Being fit is no longer just for yourself, now everything is a show off. Okay, I don't say I am not a health conscious person but there are people who work out to show off.
Lately, I have been going for walks every evening, no, this is no show off. The first day, as an ignorant that I am, I dressed up humbly in tracks and a loose top with sport shoes. I went to a nearby walking place, five gardens wouldn't seem new to you if you are a Mumbaikar.
I had just started my first round, when I saw everybody staring at me as if I am some alien. I wondered why, I looked decent and no, nothing was torn anywhere!
I asked one of my friends, whom I bumped into while walking. She didn't look like she was on a walk, dressed in 3/4th capris and a fitting top with hair properly made and make up in place! I asked her where was she heading to, she told me she had come for a walk like me. I couldn't believe it, I guess she could read my shocked face and told me:
'Arey, why are you so blank? Dont you know, walking is not just for yourself, its for everybody but you. Cant you see all those aunties walking with their tummies out in fitting clothes? You think, they dress up like this usually, this is so that every curve of their body can be seen and appreciated by everybody. They don't realize, you can only see each and every fats of their body!'

We continued walking, and yes, only after she said did I notice, I looked like a beggar compared to those hep people. Fat or thin, old or young, all were dressed to please. Hair and make up too were in place, as they continued walking with heavy breaths in their breathless clothes!

There were ignorant people like me too, who were dressed for themselves and not for others. It didnt make me too long to read though the same wilderness in their faces.

I walked ignoring the stares from the aunties and when I reached home, I realised walking was no longer a stress reliever, as if college or work wasn't enough tension. Now, I had another thing to worry about- what do I wear when I go for a walk!!!!!!!!

I did the best thing that any sane people would do, I work out at home.

LMAO

Interesting story. And yes it's hard to ignore them making a joke out of themselves when one drives (or even walks) past five gardens. But i think they are just trying to present their best face / (es) . I think that's fair enough. After-all everyone has the right to feel important (won't you agree?). To ignore is often the best policy.

Your story is amusing and interesting. If it is not just a tale then my suggestion will be to edit it for some un-noticeable mistakes.

Thank you for entertaining us. Please continue to do so...

Respectfully,
Amartya

PS: By the way, if you walk at five gardens then we are almost neighbors.... Just a thought...
