                                                 THE JOB RACE

Argh!! The markets have never affected me, at least till now. I didn't care till even 6 months back that whether the markets crashed or rose, what the sensex figure is,what the inflation percentage is...
The recent recession has taken a toll on my life, like lakhs of other graduates and even working employees. Like every other person, I too started hunting for a job, a 'good job' after my graduation. But,you can call that my ego maybe, that I rejected whatever offers I got and chased the jobs which I wanted. In the end, I ended up a loser.
I realized the blunder I made, when my friends who were working in MNC's from the last 3-4 years suddenly got sacked due to recession. That's when I realized, the seriousness of this issue.
Initially, due to depression, I took up any opportunity that I got. I worked there, but never could give myself 100% there as that wasn't my passion. I quit, should thank my lucky stars that my family never questioned my decision and supported me like always.
Now, I am not working anywhere, earlier I felt like a loser because all my friends are working. Later, I realized what a boon this recession is, its because of this that I have more time with my family, I can pursue something which I really like,I took up a correspondence and started writing. Free lancing mainly to some magazines, but I am content.
This is not an autobiography, but to tell all those students who just like me, are graduates but are struggling to find a job which they like and are depressed. I want to tell all, take advantage of the recession and don't pursue something which you don like, life's quite long for your career to be hampered by a year or two!
